Well it’s Sunday and everyone I asked had the same thing to say. They didn’t regret coming north for the weekend and they had a good time. Heck I even had one guy riding two up, on a one person sled, do 80 miles yesterday. No 80 miles isn’t allot of miles but doing it two up on a Saturday in my book is…..better him than me. Here’s todays video……..
Ok so I had to go out and reset the trail cam this afternoon so I figured I’d take a quick look for myself on how the trails are. I found that the base from before the melt down was hard pack to ice pellets. The inside of some of the corners do have ice on them and you will hear the skies clatter now and then on the straight aways when hitting the ice underneath. Over all there is no way I would tell people to stay home as I have seen the conditions a lot worse than they are right now and over the years there has been many times when I have told people to stay home. The snow that we had gotten over the last few days is giving the slide rails lubrication. The groomers had been out as you could see where they had gotten off to the side of the trails. Bottom line is…..do you want to sit home and complain that you didn’t get to ride or ride on fair to good conditions? Maybe I will change the end of the video to say “A bad day of snowmobiling is better than sitting at home and not riding at all” It’s all up to you and how bad you want to ride. I sent the cam out today with some guys that did 160 miles yesterday and will be posting their video tomorrow. Here’s todays video……………….
I went out last night for what turned out to be a short ride. Let’s just say a lesson was learned……don’t take your gloves off to long when the wind is whipping up to 40mph and it is 6 out. Boy you would think I am new to this sport of snowmobiling. LOL Ok so here is what I can tell you…..I left the motel parking lot and was back in 45 minutes and did 25 miles. More later when I post a video………………
All I can tell you is I have seen it better and I have seen it allot worse. But it is good enough that I am heading out of here at 6 to go riding. I’ll let you know on Friday’s report how it was.
Don’t throw in the towel just yet on this weekend! Things are coming around and we could be in good shape in no time. Watch todays video and find out why………
The worst is over and the front is almost past us. Temp has started to drop and they are calling for it to be back in the 20’s tonight. I’m seeing something in the forecasts and the isobars. Like always time will tell. Here’s todays video………………
The ugly is just off to the west of us at 2:15pm. By what I am seeing the worst of it is to the south and I am hoping that we get away with just some of the R stuff and not a major dump of liquid. Time will tell but there is nothing we can do about it besides sit it out and dance like all heck after the warm front passes and the cold returns.
Hope everyone is having a fun weekend! I want everyone to start dancing Sunday afternoon and maybe we can chage this R event into SNOW! LOL Here’s todays video…….
I really am starting to sound like a broken record. But things haven’t been changing all that much here in the north. It still looks like it might get ugly for a short time late Sunday into Monday. But then it is right back to winter weather and snow by what I am seeing. Time will tell………like always. Here’s todays video………..
